BrainDead - Seasons 1 - 2016

BrainDead is a comic-thriller set in the world of Washington, D.C., politics that follows Laurel, a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer who discovers two things: the government has stopped working, and bugs are eating the brains of Congress members and Hill staffers.

This is the most unusual series I've ever seen. A political-sic-fi-comedy-thriller. I love it. Plus, I'd watch Tony Shalhoub even if it was a 3-hour-feature of him eating potato chips while wearing pink fuzzy slippers. But It was only yesterday, when the senate decided that it's still okay for folks on the terror watch list to buy military style rifles, that I realized it was actually a documentary. The Republicans wouldn't pass the Democrats' bill, and the Dems wouldn't pass the Republicans', and they were practically the same bills. Clearly Ridley Scott has inside info and is writing a thinly veiled exposé of what's really wrong with the brains of politicians.

The Good Wife : seasons 7

Alicia attempts to revive her struggling law career by once again starting her own law firm, this time with the assistance of Jason Crouse (new cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a calm, experienced investigator whom she hires.

Now the creators of the show seem to have gotten the message and went back to what made this show great: interesting cases, always with very unexpected twists and turns, a lot of "objection, your honor!" and a mysterious, fascinating investigator to make it more colorful. And yes, the big politics and Eli Gold are still there but back in the format where they belong: real-life satire. Comic relief. As it should be. And snarky David Lee. Even those cool NSA hipsters and their goat videos are back. Hooray!

Better Call Saul: A Look Back

Season 2 looks to be staying true to Season 1. Everything looks and feels like a fluid continuation of Season 1. The whole series is about Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman....or more accurately his dignified honest Jimmy self being unable to suppress his true nature of Saul.

I love how Bob Odenkirk plays this role. He does such a great job, along with the writers, of making his character look bored and miserable when he's doing things that lead him down a respectable and financially prosperous path. But when he does sleazy less profitable 'Saul Goodman' type work that he did in Breaking Bad, he just looks happier. (Not a spoiler. That transformation from Jimmy McGill to Saul Goodman is what this whole series is about.)

Just like Season 1 did, Season 2 opens with a flash forward to events that take place after the entire Breaking Bad story with Jimmy/Saul being generally miserable that he walked away from his life in New Mexico. Nothing else in this series requires you to know anything about the events of Breaking Bad, though it does make this show more

Downton Abbey The Final Season: A First Look

Clearly states: Buy the TV Season Pass of Downton Abbey: The Final Season to get episodes the day after they broadcast on TV on January 4th, 2016, as well as the final five episodes before they air on TV, available starting January 26th, 2016. As I always tell my 5th graders, read all directions first. Really no reason to trash the reviews due to this. Perhaps we're all a little stressed at the prospect of D.A. withdrawal!

I have been watch Downton Abbey since season 1, episode 1 and it has been my favorite show since the family received the telegraph informing them that the Titanic sank as they sat eating breakfast. My five star review is for every season and episode, everyone in the cast who continued to play their parts so wonderfully, and of course the writer/creator who brought us this magic. I can't imagine how any show will replace this. Television at its absolute best. And the last season is a perfect goodbye to all of us.

And to the directors, producers, and casting directors, thank for choosing the right actors. A&E, PBS and Masterpiece Theater, thank you as well. You all have bought so much intertainment into my life, with little to look at on T.V. I always was interested in the next episode of Poirot. Thank you once again.

Mad Men Season 5 - TV Series

Mad Men Season 5 - TV Series. Set in 1960 New York, Mad Men pulls the viewer into an unexpected new world - the high-powered and glamorous "Golden Age" of advertising - where everyone is selling something and nothing is ever what you expect it to be. It was subtle but so creative, just the like the pitch that won Mr. Heinz Exec over.

Love the wife of the Heinz guy. She is lovely and fun to watch.The second to last scene of everyone surrounded by nice things but looking deeply troubled for obvious reasons was like a touching painting. Everyone made such a big deal about what Sally saw. I thought Pete flirting with Sally before dinner and the hypocritical, spiteful way Megan's parents treated each other was worse.
