Arrival 2016

Arrival 2016
A story about time ... really. How we perceive time, and if it were not linear - which direction we might choose to go. The aliens are incidental. Amy Adams is compelling to watch in this film, (which really is a sci-fi/philosophical film), and the viewer sort of lives in her head. This particular sci-fi is along the lines of "Contact", and (even more so) Interstellar.

If you are looking for something like "Independence Day," or "Aliens" then you will be disappointed. If you enjoyed "Interstellar," "Contact," or even "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," then you should find this movie very entertaining, and thought provoking. The film is carried entirely by Amy Adams - while the other actors did a fine job (including the special effect aliens) they (like the Sci-fi theme) are all incidental to Amy Adams character.

When mysterious spacecraft land across the globe, expert translator Louise Banks is sent to decipher their intent. As tensions mount, Banks discovers the aliens’ true purpose and, to avert global war, takes a chance that could threaten humanity.
