Earth in 1000 Years 2016

Earth in 1000 Years 2016
This documentary presents the most in depth, comprehensive portrait of climate change I've ever witnessed on film. The Greenland and Antarctic ice masses are extensively investigated, using great CGI animations to describe various types of climate change. Unlike some Climate change videos, this documentary doesn't focus on ice age patterns caused by earth's change in tilt, or sun spot cycles.

What they do, is describe earth's climates going back 150 million years, how the continent of Pangaea and Gowanda land broke apart, how Antarctica drifted south, until it landed at the present location, with the circumpolar currents blocking warmer tropical currents from warming the area. This slowly built up an ice sheet that has been in place for millions of years.

There are signs that Earth's great stores of ice are beginning to melt. With sea levels beginning to rise, scientists are looking back at climates past to see where our planet may be headed 1000 into the future and beyond. Featured by XIVETV.
